PREVENTING FALLS FROM HEIGHT WHILE MAINTAINING THE WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT

Work at height means work in any place where, if precautions were not taken, a person could fall and injure themselves. The fall could be from one level to another including from ground level into an opening in a floor or hole in the ground. Many maintenance activities take place at height, such as replacement of high level lighting, decorating and plastering or working in an attic or roof space.

FLOOR REFURBISHMENT

Protecting floor voids can be an issue on many building tasks, in both new-build and refurbishment project. During refurbishment work, when lifting and removing floor boards, the STS Safety Trellis mats are deployed so that areas of work are easily identified and made safe. Access is by lifting the trellis mat; it is then easily replaced after the trade work has finished. The work can also be readily inspected. The mat quickly folds up for moving around the contract.

Visibility through the open trellis allows inspection of items in the void; while providing safe access for other trade operatives working in the area. After completing work, the mat is easily moved around the contract, stacked, or stored.
