PREVENTING FALLS FROM HEIGHT WHILE MAINTAINING THE WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT

Facility management is an industry that looks after multiple areas to ensure functionality, comfort, safety and efficiency of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology. Falls are an ever-present danger in this industry. Working on high platforms, cherry pickers, ladders or any other raised area poses personnel risk. Running a safe operation is possible if the right equipment and training are provided to employees.

The composite material has been developed from aerospace and Formula One racing user experience; mats are independently tested and meet strength standards such as BS 2037. The strength of the trellis prevents falls through ceiling and co-lateral damage; the insulation of the trellis material prevents electrical shock from faulty or broken electrical fittings or old wiring, possible hidden in thermal insulation.

The closed-up mat is easy to insert, even through small attic hatches, and then moved into place in the roof space, and expanded to suit the space to be protected. The weight of the operator is spread over the joists. This gives safety for inspections; plumbing, TV aerial, solar inverter, electrical, and maintenance work in roof spaces.
