On 7th June 2025 two members of the Oxford Safety Components team, Sindy and Carrie-Ann decided to take part in the 5k Pretty Muddy Run to raise funds in support of Race for Life - Cancer Research UK.
Race for Life is a series of fundraising events, organised by charity Cancer Research UK, that involve running, jogging or walking a 5-kilometre, 10-kilometre or 'Pretty Muddy' course and raising sponsorship for doing so. The money raised provides crucial funds for cancer research in all 200 types of cancer.
With plenty of rainfall the week before the event was definitely going to live up to its name.
Looking pretty in pink at the start of the day, as they navigated the course the mud gradually transformed their outfits to a lovely shade of brown. It's a good job mud is good for the skin!
As you can see Sindy and Carrie got stuck in and did themselves proud raising just over £2000 for the Cancer Research UK with a contribution from Kee Safety under the Kee Giving scheme.
'We ran all the way around and completed every obstacle within one hour, this resulted in one grazed knee, one grazed elbow and two very muddy ladies who enjoyed every minute!'
Well done ladies!
