The CoverSafe Trench

CoverSafe Trench is a fall-prevention system formulated with GRP, used to prevents falls into open trenches, protecting operatives and the general public from the risk of injury.

Perfect for groundworks and utility companies working in wide range of excavations, including the installation and maintenance of gas, water, electricity and other utilities.

GRP material allows the trench cover to be insulated, providing full protection against electrical dangers, whilst being lightweight, yet extremely durable.

The CoverSafe Trench can be set up and removed in under a minute, the cover can also be clipped down at each corner to ensure extra stability, and the trellis pattern allows for easy inspection of work without having to lift the mat.

No, the trench cover is a temporary solution for trenches.

What is GRP Material?

Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GRP) is a composite material made from a polymer matrix and glass fibres. By using two materials a strong compound is created, making GRP an extremely strong material. As a result GRP material has many advantages such as being lightweight, resistant against chemicals and erosion, waterproof, highly-durable and insulated to protect against electrical hazards.

Can I stand on the trench cover?

The trench cover has not been designed to be walked on, it is a fall-arrest system that will catch an operative should they fall into the trench.

What size trench/excavation does the CoverSafe Trench fit?

The trench cover is extremely adaptable thanks to our XSpan Technology, which means it can cover a variety of trench sizes. A single Standard CoverSafe Trench can cover trenches up to 1300mm, however multiple mats can be applied for longer trenches.
