Having previously raised money for a number of charities including cancer, heart disease and type 1 diabetes, Carrie-Anne and Sindy from the Oxford Safety Components team decided to take on a new challenge - the 30 Mile Walk throughout September for Dementia UK.
Unlike some of their previous adventures, this one didn't involve mud, jumping out of planes or sheep! Just some nice walks, clocking up the miles during September as summer gradually transitioned into autumn.

The ladies easily smashed the target, and completed 31.22 miles over just 9 days.
Raising a total of £2000 for Dementia UK with donations each from Kee Safety's Kee Giving.

Dementia UK is a specialist UK charity providing dedicated, one-to-one support and clinical advice for families affected by all forms of dementia
• Inspiration: The charity traces its roots to the late 1980s and early 1990s, inspired by the specialist care model of Macmillan cancer nurses.
• Launch: The first Admiral Nurse project launched in 1990 at the Middlesex Hospital, leading to the creation of the Dementia Relief Trust in 1994/1995, which later rebranded into Dementia UK.

Dementia is an umbrella term for a range of progressive conditions that affect the brain.
Each type of dementia damages a person’s brain cells, affecting how the brain works. This can cause problems with memory, thinking, communication and carrying out everyday activities.
Dementia can affect people of any age, although it is more common in people over 65.
